On April 28th, 2012, a group of 594 police officers, colleagues, and friends embarked on a challenging journey, scaling the Wainwright peaks in the picturesque Lake District. Their mission: to raise funds in support of police survivors.

In light of the recent hardships faced by our police community, the tradition of "Light the Lakes" lives on, with a renewed purpose of aiding COPS (Care of Police Survivors).

The vision is to assemble teams to conquer all 214 Wainwright fells, illuminating beacons in honour of our fallen officers.

COPS, a UK registered charity, is unwavering in its commitment to assisting the families of police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while on duty, helping them rebuild their shattered lives. The goal is simple: ensure that grieving family members have the comprehensive support they need during such a heart-wrenching ordeal, ensuring they remain an integral part of the larger police family.

COPS strives to create a nationwide network of survivors, tailor-fitting assistance to each individual's needs. Whether it's a sympathetic ear or practical aid, COPS connects survivors with those who genuinely comprehend their journey.

Welcome Packs £15 per Person

To prepare you for the climb and something to help you Light the Lakes,

The pack will include: A Flare, A T-Shirt and some extra goodies

All money raised from the sale of the welcome packs will go to support survivors that have lost love ones from the Thin Blue Line

Following your impressive ascent and a well-deserved break, the post-Light the Lakes climb event of this year will take place at the scenic Brathay Hall.

This gathering promises a chance to unwind, exchange stories, and immerse yourself in the breath-taking natural surroundings this venue boasts.

As the clock ticks past 2:00 PM, we'll have a memorable presentation and speeches to honour the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The evening carries on with opportunities for camaraderie, with a well-stocked bar within the hall where you can purchase your favourite drinks.
