Light the Lakes 2026

On April 28th, 2012, a group of 594 police officers, colleagues, and friends embarked on a challenging journey, scaling the Wainwright peaks in the picturesque Lake District. Their mission: to raise funds in support of police survivors.

In light of the recent hardships faced by our police community, the tradition of "Light the Lakes" lives on, with a renewed purpose of aiding COPS (Care of Police Survivors).

The vision is to assemble teams to conquer all 214 Wainwright fells, illuminating beacons in honour of our fallen officers.

Welcome Packs £25 per Person

Welcome packs will be available for collection at Graythwaite Farm, Ambleside, Cumbria, LA22 0LU

Friday 26th June 2026 from 1000hrs

To prepare you for the climb and something to help you Light the Lakes,

The pack will include: A T-Shirt, A Glowstick, and some extra goodies

All money raised from the sale of the welcome packs will go to support survivors that have lost love ones from the Thin Blue Line

Following your impressive ascent and a well-deserved break, the post-Light the Lakes climb event of this year will take place at the scenic Graythwaite Farm

This gathering promises a chance to unwind, exchange stories, and immerse yourself in the breath-taking natural surroundings this venue boasts.

As the clock ticks past 2:00 PM, we'll have a memorable presentation and speeches to honour the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The evening carries on with opportunities for camaraderie, with a well-stocked bar within the hall where you can purchase your favourite drinks.
