Description
Limerick Panto Society was founded in 1985 with the purpose of creating and keeping Panto tradition alive in Limerick. The last couple of years have been difficult for everyone and unfortunately the Society was forced to cancel their festive fare over the last two years. Now, however it's back and back with a bang. "Oh Yes It Is". The group is busy preparing for this year’s production Cinderella, which will be staged, at the The Millenium Theatre TUS from December 27th 2022 to January 8th2023.
This season’s offering will be the Society’s 36th production and the group is excited to be at their new home in The Millenium Theatre, TUS. The Society would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and management of TUS (Technological University of the Shannon) for providing a wonderful venue. The classic tale of Cinderella will be this year's offering with all your favourite characters performing. The story will as usual contain many surprises and promises many a twist and turn along the way. However the important aspect of all the group's productions is that it prides itself on traditional family entertainment and of course the importance of interactions with the audience. The interactions with the audience are the very essence of a successful pantomime.
Group discounts are available - if you have a group (school/scouts/GAA club/company sports and social societies or any others) that your looking to organise as a day out - feel free to get in touch on limerickpantoboxoffice@gmail.com!
Cinderella will be written by Tim Cusack and everyone at the Society is delighted that Tim will return as the panto Dame when he will be one of the Ugly Sisters. Cinderella has it all, the magic of the Fairy Godmother, the charm of Buttons, the majestic King and Queen and of course the romance between Prince Charming and Cinderella.
Tony Cusack who has vast experience in the Light Entertainment field will lead the production team for Cinderella. Tony has assembled a talented and experienced group to ensure that this year’s production will maintain the standards of past performances. Damien O’Brien will be the Stage Manager. Mike O’Brien is the Lighting Director for the Production.
The society is delighted to announce that this year’s show will once again be in association with the Crescent Shopping Centre. The Crescent has always supported the group and the Traders Association will be the main sponsors of the production this year. A massive thank you to Mr John Davitt and all at the Crescent. We are delighted that Shannon Airport is again on board this year and we are grateful to Mr Declan Power and all at the Airport. Another initiative this year is that we will be having a special “Sensory Show” on Sunday January 8th at 12noon.

Performing the children’s chorus in Cinderella will be Spotlight Stage School under the direction of Judy O’Connor and Margaret Hough, Expressive Arts under the direction of Pearl Kiely and Gemstars under the direction of Emma O’Driscoll and Georgina O’Driscoll. It is wonderful to see the talent being produced by all these hard-working Stage Schools.

Dance Direction of the Limerick Panto Chorus is in the capable hands of Carol Cusack and the Choreographer is Lisa Hogan.
