Sleep Workshop: Supporting Sleep, Nightmares and Night Terrors
Sleep Workshop: Supporting Sleep, Nightmares and Night Terrors
Sleep can be a real challenge for many adults and children. Children that have experienced trauma are more likely to find falling asleep and staying asleep difficult. In this workshop we will explore the science of sleep and how we can help establish routines that help promote a restful night’s sleep. In addition to this we look at how we understand nightmares and night terrors, exploring ways to support these through interventions recommended by sleep and trauma experts. This workshop is aimed at Foster Carers but is also suitable for Children’s Services and education staff looking to advise and signpost parents and carers to further support.
