Too often, safeguarding practice is built around mothers. Fathers are often assessed purely as risks, or simply not assessed at all; they are left out of plans, not invited to reviews, and rarely supported to engage. Yet we know that when fathers are meaningfully engaged, outcomes for children improve.

Designed for all professionals that engage with families, this session draws on the latest research with diverse fathers and professionals to explore what gets in the way of father inclusion in safeguarding contexts, and what practitioners, managers and organisations can do differently to unlock the benefits of father involvement for children, women and men themselves.

This session will be presented by Professor Anna Tarrant, Professor of Sociology at the University of Lincoln.

You can book your place by clicking 'Select tickets', above. Once you have registered, the briefing link will be emailed to you. This briefing will be hosted online, via Microsoft Teams.
