Mad Spirits and Wild Gods - Stories of Puck and Pan

You are invited into the woods, for an evening of storytelling to hear tales of wild spirits from the living earth.

Following the tales of two wild spirits, Robin Goodfellow and The Great God Pan, Dartmoor storyteller Henry Everett will tell tales of wild visions from Medieval Britain and Ancient Greece.

‘Puck’ hobgoblin supreme, dancer in the dark.. aka ‘Robin Goodfellow’, has been a character of folk and fairy lore for over five hundred years. He is a spirit caught between human destiny and the song of eternity, ever entangled in our dance…

Ancient Greek God of pasture, overlord of wild creatures, and ruler of solitary places… ‘The Great God Pan’ was a source of terror, fearful to look at, creator of Panic and yet, he was protector, seducer… the pipes of Pan are the sweetest symphony between the trees.

These tales explore Western cultural personifications of the living earth and connections to land. The characters explore what ‘wildness’ might be and question whether we can make room for it in ourselves and allow wildness in the world at this point of environmental collapse.

Age guidance for this storytelling is 18+: there is some explicit content.

NOTE - this storytelling will be out in the woods around the fire. We will go ahead in all weathers as there is a sturdy shelter available. 

You will need to arrive 15-20 minutes before the start of the event, in order to park and walk up to the venue.

Teas and coffees will be available.
