Foundations of Stroke Work continued - Combining the C and S stroke for basic Designs - Flat and Round Brush  plus detail - Rosemaling

Thursday October 29th,  2026 - 7:30-10:30PM Eastern

Tuition: $35

This class is for beginners and for all levels of rosemalers/painters who wish to develop a strong technical foundation and brush control for their artwork.  This class builds on the foundations of the C and S strokes of rosemaling.  Both the flat and Round brush will be used for this class so that we may compare the similarities and differences in rosemaling.   Worksheets and freehand design will be used to develop an understanding and skill of how to combine these strokes together to create basic designs and flowers. We will also touch upon detailing as well.

Whether you are new to Rosemaling/stroke work and art in general, or you have had a brush in hand for years, this is a great class for learning how to make that paint brush and your hand work together with the result of a lowered painting frustration level and to help you create beautiful flowing strokes that will help create works of art for years to come.

In this class, I will demonstrate the brushstrokes up close, focusing in on how to hold your brush, direction of your bristles for proper flow of the stroke, mediums, brushes, etc.. There will be general discussions about styles of rosemaling, palettes, acrylic and oil paints as well.

This class will be taught in acrylics, but oil painters are welcome as well!

You will receive a supply list after you sign up for the class but there is a preview of some of the suggested material for class listed below.  The day prior to class you will receive the zoom link and a packet of work sheets that we will use for the class.  Also, you will also received my Basic Introduction To Rosemaling Pdf packet that is a guideline to brushes, paints, books, websites, etc. when you sign up for this class. Some of you may have received this in a prior class.

This class will be recorded and after the class is completed you will receive the recording via an unlisted YouTube video for you to refer back to. Scans of my work will also be forwarded to the class as well. You do not need to attend this class live in order to receive the recording and extra material sent out with this class. This recording and scans will be available to your for a year.

***You do not need to attend this class live in order to receive the recording and extra material sent out with this class.

There are no refunds for this class seeing that everyone receives all the materials and recordings of the class whether you attend live or not. Thank you for your understanding.
