Maths With a Story: A Letterbox Club Kids' Event
PLEASE ONLY BOOK ONE TICKET FOR EACH CHILD. Adults do NOT need their own ticket. One adult must remain with their child for the event duration.
Would you like to collect treasure, have a race or go fishing? Can frogs help you learn your times tables? Find out why Daleks are good at counting in fours! Help build a giant track game, with obstacles from start to finish.
A family session for children aged 5 to 12 and their accompanying grown-up/s. (Sisters and brothers are welcome, too.)
Come and join us for a wonderful, numbers-led workshop with children’s author, Professor Rose Griffiths. Play our games and change the rules, or design your own game.
Be ready to try things out and to draw and build. All materials will be provided.
Professor Rose Griffiths has written over a hundred books for the maths classroom and for children at home, including for Puffin, Cambridge, Oxford, and Pearson. She is one of the UK’s most-borrowed and highest selling authors of children’s non-fiction. Rose looks for ways of using games and practical activities to make maths both enjoyable and purposeful. Rose was founder of the Letterbox Club, providing books and number games for children in foster care. Letterbox is now an established programme within BookTrust, engaging more than 10,000 children and their families each year.
Rose will be helped by poets and game builders John Berkavitch and Andy Craven-Griffiths.
