LSS Conference 2025

The Lithic Studies Society annual conference will be held this year in Leicester, hosted by Voluntary Action LeicesterShire (VAL) in their city centre conference space.

From Shanidar to Mount Sandel, and Leicester's own Bradgate Park to Belgium, we look forward to welcoming you for two days of fascinating talks, posters and displays related to the stone tools of the UK and beyond.

Ticket Options

This year we are trialling a tiered system for our in-person tickets to support those attendees who would otherwise not be able to afford to come. We ask that people choose the ticket price which best suits their means. This system operates on an honesty basis and will not be checking anyone's eligibility.

Standard: This is our normal ticket price and will apply to most people. Please select this ticket if you are employed or receive an adequate income, have some expendable income, and are able to meet your regular basic needs.

Low Income: This lower price ticket is for those who don't always manage to meet their basic needs, who are not employed or are underemployed, have very limited expendable income, and who may qualify for financial assistance.

Pay It Forwards: This ticket is for those people who are comfortably able to meet all their basic needs, have expendable income, and would like to help us support those less fortunate. Any purchases at this ticket cost will help to cover the reduction for those on lower income and allow the society to keep these events accessible to all during a time of rapidly rising costs.

Online Only: For non-LSS members unable to attend the event in person, we are offering a one-cost online only ticket. Members of the society will receive an email with a link to attend online for free. Please note, where possible in-person presentations will be shown live, but pre-recorded and online presentations will be made available during or after the event. A very few talks may not be available online on the day or subsequently due to copyright or publication concerns.
