We are so excited to welcome performers to audition for our upcoming production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! 

Our auditions are designed to be fun, supportive and confidence-building, giving every child the opportunity to shine in a relaxed environment.

Each year we see so many children walk away extremely proud of their achievement and we want them all to feel that it is a great fun experience no matter the outcome. 

Please ensure you book your child onto the correct audition which is best suited to them. It is also important that you prepare your child for the day and what to expect so please read through the details with them. Ensure you know what audition you want to select so you can choose the correct time slot upon booking. 

1:1 Audition 11.00-3.00pm - For those that wish to be cast as a main speaking or singing role. £9.00 
Each child will have a short 5 minute individual audition in front of a judging panel where they can:

Sing and or act a short section of a song/text of their choice. This must NOT be from the musical they are auditioning for. It can be based on the same style / period of the show. 

SINGING SECTION

- Sing Unaccompanied (They will be able to if required tell us there starting note so that can be played for them to help their starting pitch.) 
- Use a Backing Track  (Tracks MUST BE SENT by the end of June via email to enquries@littlestarsmusicaltheatre.co.uk. Any applicants that do not send their backing tracks will be unable to audition. Late entries will be charged an admin fee.)
- Bring along a musical score that can be played live in the audition (Please email us by the end of June with the song name and key as well as the bars required.) Those of you that have singing lessons this is something your singing teachers should be able to assist with. 

TIME LIMIT:
There will be a 2 minute maximum time frame for your song. Please ensure you have a selection of music that does not go over the time limit. You do not need to cut tracks but your child should know when to stop singing and we will know that their audition is over even then if the music continues.
If you would like me to cut your tracks for you I can do this at a charge.  Please contact me. 

ACTING SECTION 

Act out a small monologue of their own choice. Simply google "1 minute monologue for a child of X age" and then choose one you like! Again if you need help with this please do let me know. Monologues should not be from the musical but can follow the same style / period. Please note your child can use any text from a book or play. 

If you only do one of the above singing or acting, please do note that most principal roles will require both skillsets so you do limit your chances of casting by only doing one rather than both. 

Time limit of 1 minute for the monologue or text 

IMPROV SECTION 

Each applicant will be given a small improvised exercise, this is not something they can prepare for but it is worth making them aware that this will happen.
