Make your own cyanotype

In this workshop, we will explore the original sun-printing process of cyanotype. Cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic techniques that produces distinctive deep blue images after being exposed with the light of the sun.

We will begin at the tool library to understand the basics of cyanotype printing and how to prepare paper for printing. We'll walk together down a section of Lodge Lane to collect materials to print with and expose our designs. We will also have a selection of tools and materials at the libarry for you to rummage through to make a LTL inspired print.

Then we will rinse and process our prints. You will leave the workshop with your own set of prints and some prepared cyanotype paper to create more prints at home.

This is a family-friendly workshop! Please note that all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The workshop will be hosted in the Tool Library. We have a ramp to get into the Tool Library workshop, and the door is 88cm wide, so only accessible for certain wheelchairs. Please note that the toilets in Aspen Yard are not wheelchair accessible.
