The Not the Livestock Festival Special
Sat 27 Jul 2024 15:00 - 23:00 BST
The Black Barn, Forty Hall Farm, Enfield, EN2 9HA
Description
Sadly the Livestock Music Festival 2024 is off, it has been the hardest decision we have had to make in all the years of running the festival, or any of the other things we do to bring live music to our community.
But out of the ashes we have talked some of the incredible acts from the festival in to performing at a special Music from The Black Barn fundraising special on the same day.
The aim is to raise funds for Livestock Events CIC, the not-for-profit community enterprise which runs the Livestock Festival, Music from The Black Barn and Park Live events so it remains financially viable going forwards and is able to continue to bring great live music to our community.
The Not the Livestock Festival Special will feature festival favourites The Ukulele Ska Collective, The Vipers and The Blues Chapter, giving a flavour of the festival within the confines of The Black Barn.
The Ukulele Ska Collective need little introduction as perennial festival favourites, They play great Ska songs on Ukuleles (and a variety of other things!) including Toots and the Maytals, Specials, Madness, Prince Buster, Selector, The Beat, Millie Small, and anything on Trojan Records. They love ukuleles. And they love ska. So…They play ska music, on the ukulele, with kazoos. And They’re a collective. Expect catchy, fun, singalong ska tunes, from Prince Buster to the Specials and Toots and the Maytals. We’ll make you smile, we’ll make you dance and we’ll all have fun. Our motto: Enjoy Yourself!
The Vipers festival and local favourites are one of the West End’s premiere cover bands, with residencies at three of the capital’s most popular live venues. Their high-octane performances, playing well-known songs by a variety of bands from The Beatles and The Kinks to Foo Fighters and Green Day, have thrilled London audiences for almost a decade. The 4-piece pride themselves on delivering an exciting, professional live show that draws on each individual member’s years of experience and passion for music. Usually headlining in Covent Garden and Soho, they now bring the rock’n’roll to the farm.
The Blues Chapter have been with us from the start, in fact Jacob on the keyboards was one of the early organisers of Livestock and is part of the reason we are here at all. They will play their incredible brand of Hot-shot Texas blues, featuring the outstanding combination of Jesse Thomas’s fabulous guitar and Sky Wood’s rasping vocals and stage presence. Quite simply one of most exciting blues bands anywhere on the circuit.
We may even be able to arrange more. Tickets for this event will be limited by the capacity of The Black Barn, so if you want to come, get yours fast. Hope to see you there.
