Avalon Permaculture Gardens, BA6 8TL
Description
A weekend workshop to reconnect and liberate the wild spirit within. https://www.livingtao.co.uk/shame-workshop
Shame is an ancient primal primate feeling. It is the feeling of not being worthy of belonging, it is terrifying to us, especially as babies and children and is a part of how many primates condition their young to belong in the group. We humans, with our highly conditioned minds and rich imaginations are prone to feeling it deeply and being controlled by it. As such it has become a major part of civilised societies means of conditioning and controlling children and shaping them into conforming adults. But culturally we tend to over use Shame and create neurotic adults where conditioning robs us of the freedom to be relaxed and fully ourselves. Shame especially creates a strong control on our animal instinctual natures which in turn makes it very hard to be awake, alive and freely responsive in the moment.
Shame has its place, it reminds us to be mindful of others, but being weighed down and oppressed by it every day inhibits the freedom to fully be what you are: a miracle of life with remarkable creative potential. This weekend is an exploration of Shame and how to put it in its natural place and stop reinvoking it in a myriad of subtle ways every day.
Discover, with group processes, sharing and conscious breathwork:
• How to get bigger than the self shaming narratives we keep telling ourselves
• The aliveness that comes from facing the fear in the shame
• How to relax into being a part of Life, Nature and the Universe
• Empowering the Natural Warrior:
• Working with our Ecoshame (shame as humans hurting Nature) and the shame of being our wild selves. Freeing ourselves from being bound in those two knots.
• What is in the way of deeply opening to and connecting with others
• How to work with sexual and body shame
• The Joy of laughing our way free of shame conditioned "normality"
• The spiritual freedom that comes from allowing deep questioning of our shame
