THE EVENT
On Thursday 7th March, we'll be holding our second ever Hope Hack LLR at The Venue, De Montfort University, Leicester!
This event is all about celebrating the fabulous young people (aged 14-25) of LLR, providing them with the space to develop solutions for a fairer society, and allowing them the opportunity to present these ideas back to key decision makers.

THE LINE-UP
Here's what's happening...
- Live PA's from The Wonder Twins (Voice Kids Winners 2023), LVT (Party with my Girls, Me & You, Karma) and Strizzy Straus (Performing tracks from his latest album release)
- Panel led by local young people.
- An inspiring local keynote speaker.
- A wide range of workshops to choose from (further details below).
- Presentation of ideas to invited guests, including key decision makers from across LLR.
- FREE photo-booth.
- FREE food and refreshments.

THE WORKSHOPS
There are 6 different workshop to choose from, all running at the same time, with each providing young people with a platform to have their voice heard about issues affecting them, and the solutions required to make our communities fairer and safer. Each workshop theme is broad to enable conversations to be led by the young people on the day. Following the workshops, young people will present their solutions back to decision makers with the aims of these being taken forward.
Please make sure you only select one workshop per young person when completing your booking!
- EQUALITIES:
Creating a fair society in relation to Race, gender, ethnicity, class, disability, gender reassignment, religion or belief, sex, and communities experiencing inequalities. - TRUST AND CONFIDENCE:
Creating trust and confidence in children and young people with adults that they come in to contact with. This may include social care, police, youth justice, probation, sports clubs, and more. It is also about changing the narratives around young people within the media including social media.
- MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
Creating positive well-being amongst young people by exploring some of the issues affecting their mental health including social media, body image, the media, covid-19, the cost-of-living crisis.
- EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT
Creating positive education environments for children and young people within schools, alternative provisions, pupil referral units and communities. Creating accessible employment opportunities for young people. - CRIME AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Creating safe communities by exploring crime and violence affecting young people, and the solutions required for prevention. Creating a fairer and just Criminal Justice System. - THE ENVIRONMENT
Creating environmentally friendly and sustainable communities that focus on reducing the impact of global warming and climate change, pollution, and loss of biodiversity.
THE TICKETS
There are two ways to book places for this years Hope Hack LLR:
1: Young people can sign themselves up
OR
2: Group leaders can sign up to 20 young people up.
With either option you will need to select workshops and state the fill names of the young people attending when completing the booking.
