Becoming a Trusted Adult Training
This training session explores the role of being a trusted adult when working with children and young people, underpinned by core youth work principles including voluntary engagement, empowerment, participation, equality, and respect. It focuses on building positive, professional relationships based on trust, consistency, and effective communication. Participants will develop an understanding of how to create safe and supportive environments, value and amplify young people's voices, and respond appropriately to concerns while maintaining professional boundaries and safeguarding responsibilities. The session emphasises the importance of fostering strong, authentic relationships that enable children and young people to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.
