Preserving the Local Newspaper Archive - toolkit launch
This seminar will share insights from Preserving the Local Newspaper Archive, a National Archives-funded research project led by Dr Rachel Matthews. The project explores the significance of local newspaper archives as records of community life, local identity, and place, while addressing the challenges of preserving collections at a time when newspaper offices and their associated archives are increasingly at risk. At this event we will launch our project toolkit aimed at supporting those who seek to safeguard these important collections for future generations. Attendees will hear about the project's findings, emerging resources, and the wider value of local newspaper archives to communities and cultural heritage.
