Dear friends,

We're inviting you to a 90-minute participatory online gathering for connection, reflection, and action toward the global-to-local shift – away from a corporate-driven global economy towards place-based economies that work for people, communities and The Planet. 

Whether you’re actively building local alternatives, re-imagining your community, or simply feeling the call toward relocalization, this is a space to explore, connect, and grow alongside others on a similar path.

In this session, we'll explore what makes activism effective and sustainable: How do we connect with others locally, sustain initiatives over time, and build the collective power and critical mass needed for systemic change? We'll reflect on what helps movements grow and what can enable local action to contribute to wider tranformation. In this and the sessions to come, we'll also invite your thoughts and input on some of Local Futures' upcoming campaigns and explore how we might work together to strengthen their impact.

What to expect
This is a 90-minute participatory circle combining whole-group sharing and conversation with smaller breakout spaces for deeper reflection, listening and exchange. There will also be space to share ideas and perspectives on Local Futures’ upcoming campaigns and to explore possibilities for collective action.

About the Planet Local Sharing Circle
In September 2025, Local Futures hosted the Planet Local Summit in Ladakh, India, bringing together participants from 25 countries. Since then, conversations and collaborations have continued to unfold. Out of this ongoing dialogue, emerged the Planet Local Sharing Circle — an online space for people to come together, share concerns and ideas, exchange experiences, and explore strategies for advancing localization.

While inspired by connections formed at the Summit, this circle is open to anyone interested in localization and the global-to-local shift. We welcome ideas and collaboration in shaping the format as we go along.
