Dynamic Staging with Seamus Allen

The London Improvathon team is excited to offer this Saturday intensive workshop with 50 hour player Seamus Allen.

Move beyond “talking heads” scenes and create improv that feels alive, cinematic, and theatrically bold.

In this advanced workshop, actor-director and educator Seamus Allen explores how staging choices can transform improvised performance. Through fast-paced practical exercises and scene work, you’ll learn how to use space, movement, focus, levels, and composition to build clearer stories, stronger relationships, and more visually compelling scenes in the moment.

Designed for experienced improvisers, this session goes beyond basic stagecraft to examine ensemble awareness, proxemics, status dynamics, and the rhythm of physical storytelling. You’ll practice making intentional staging choices without sacrificing spontaneity, helping scenes feel more confident, connected, and emotionally dynamic.

We suggest a minimum 18 months experience with short form or narrative long form improv is appropriate to take this class. 

You must be proficient in foundation performance skills.
