Mime with Justin Brett

The London Improvathon team is excited to offer this Saturday intensive workshop with 50 hour player Justin Brett.

Good mime is good space work. One of the great challenges of learning improv is that you're expected to be able to do immediate, excellent space work, but nobody has been teaching you how. Nobody has been teaching you mime. Until NOW!

In this playful six-hour session, we will look at the basics of mime: fixed point, resistance and weight, object construction, architecture, and The Three Rules! Finally, we'll pull together our new skills and learn to construct whole environments to play in.

"Mime is not pretending objects exist. Mime is making the audience believe they exist." It is believed that Marcel Marceau said this. Just probably very quietly.

We suggest a minimum 18 months experience with short form or narrative long form improv is appropriate to take this class. 

You must be proficient in foundation performance skills.

There will be a short morning and afternoon comfort break and a 30 minute lunch break.
