Join us for the launch of the Black History Haringey 365 programme at Wolves Lane Horticulture Centre.

There will be a panel discussion reflecting on 50 years since the Black Parents Movement was established in North London, in response to the disparities faced by Black children in the education system. As a grassroots movement, it was led by Black parents advocating for better educational opportunities, resources and support for their children. The panel will also explore the national Black History Month theme ‘Standing Firm in Power & Pride’, and will include an opportunity for the audience to ask questions. The discussion will be chaired by Kenneth Olumuyiwa Tharp, Director of Culture & Communities at Haringey Council.

Panellists will include:

There will also been live music from the DJ Academy and Pan Nation and spoken word performances from exciting emerging local poets and musicians.

This event is open to everyone, and we look forward to seeing you there!
