Resident Workshop: Have Your Say on Grants and Equality in Tower Hamlets

Join us on Thursday 3 September to have your say on the Council's new grants programme for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) and updated Corporate Equality Plan.

Tower Hamlets Council warmly invites residents to a workshop to help shape two important areas of our work. We especially want to hear from you if you face more challenges, barriers or unfair treatment because of who you are, your background or life story.

We are asking for your input on how we should tackle inequality and improve lives across the Borough, through these two areas of work...

1. Voluntary and Community Sector Main Grants Programme

The Mayor's Community Grants Programme, which supports local VCS groups with multi-year funding, is due to end in 2027. We are starting to design what comes next.

Join us at this workshop to influence how we invest in local charities, community enterprises and voluntary groups over the next three to five years. Tell us about how resident needs are changing, your hopes and aspirations for yourself and your communities, and what types of projects and activities would make the biggest difference.

2. Corporate Equality Plan

The Council’s current Corporate Equality Plan expires at the end of the year. We are engaging with residents to develop a new Corporate Equality Plan to set the council’s strategy for addressing inequality in the borough.

We want to hear your views. Your feedback will help ensure our future work understands and responds to community needs, builds on what works well and improves what does not.
