DEC Awards are small projects that immerse children and young people in the exciting world of the Built Environment – they learn to design, engineer and construct a range of extraordinary buildings and structures.

DEC in a Day : Eco-Classroom Workshop (Full day workshop)

• Learn about built environment professions though project-based learning.
• Participants work in teams and take on roles in design and construction to create a concept design for a sustainable stand-alone classroom building.
• Participants will conduct their own research and develop a proposal, including concept drawings.
• Industry volunteers will lend their expertise, advice and guidance throughout the day.

Groups will present their concepts at the end of the day.

The session is tailored for pupils in Year 10 and above.  The session has capacity for 20 learners.

About London Careers Festival

The London Careers Festival is a free annual event that aims to inspire young Londoners, from primary to post-16, to consider Square Mile connected careers, particularly those who experience barriers to those careers.

Booking places for your school - Please make the best estimate of the teacher and pupil tickets needed.  You will be allowed to make small increases or decreases to the number of tickets before the end of the autumn term.

Showing your ticket and confirming actual pupil numbers - You only need to show one QR code or booking confirmation and your lead teacher will be asked to confirm how many pupils are in attendance.

IMPORTANT – Photography and Filming Permissions

Please note that recording and photography will be taking place across all events and you must attain the correct permissions for your pupils. Attendance at the festival is acceptance of this requirement. Any individuals who cannot appear in promotional media must be managed by the school as festival staff will not be able to track this.
