Premodern February 2026
NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT RESERVE A SPACE UNLESS YOU ARE REASONABLY CERTAIN YOU CAN ATTEND. WE WILL NOT TURN AWAY PLAYERS WHO DO NOT HAVE A SPACE RESERVED, THE TICKETS ON THIS PAGE SERVE ENTIRELY FOR US TO GAUGE NUMBERS FOR REQUIRED SEATING.
Join us for the latest London Premodern tournament, which will take place at Rogue's Quarter Cafe in Kentish Town. The event will comprise five rounds of swiss, with a ~45 minute lunch break after round three, before a cut to top 8. Since the venue sells food and beverages, we request that you do not bring your own (barring water) to the venue. If you wish to eat and drink elsewhere during the lunch break that is of course fine.
There will probably be some prizes for top 8 finishers (e.g. old border format staples, low value RL cards) donated by tournament organisers and community members. If you're interested in contributing to the prize pool, please do let us know. After the event, we will be keen to have everyone's decklists in order to gather metagame data, potentially with a view to publishing it online.
Pricing/Registration: participating in the event will require you to pay a £6 table fee on the day of the event. Registering online is free, however N.B. we encourage people to only register if they are confident they'll be able to attend, as we want to keep dropouts to a minimum. On the day, we'll have a list of everyone who's registered online, and as/when each person on the list pays we'll tick your name off.
The event will run at regular REL. Considering the community spirit of the format, we expect players to operate in good faith, and will do our best to settle judge calls appropriately.
Proxies and gold-bordered printings: you may play with playtest cards (proxies), so long as they are clearly printed and use official magic art (and no textless/confusing secret lair printings, please). We neither condone nor accept use of fake cards. You may play with WCD gold-bordered printings of cards so long as the card backs are not visible through your sleeves.
