Description
Join Ranger Jenny Lawly and Ben from Clean Up River Brent for a beautiful evening by Clitterhouse Brook.
Ranger Jenny runs Secret River Sweepers - a project that engages local volunteers to help clean up Clitterhouse Brook, Ben Morris founded the Clean Up the River Brent (CURB) initiative to monitor, clean, and protect the River Brent.
Learning: Ben will show us how to use sustainable river quality testing equipment, as traditional water quality testing kits are full of chemicals that have to be very carefully disposed of.
Jenny will share top tips on how to set up a river clean-up delving into issues like how to deal with the waste you have pulled out of the river, and how to connect to the council.
Discussion: We will explore how to advocate for a river, getting to know the river, and how to build a river care group.. We will take the lead of the group to help define what they want to know.
We will then head into Clitterhouse Farm for refreshments.
