Learn to skate roller ski - beginners course session 3
Your can learn to roller ski for fitness and fun, and in the UK it's the route to becoming a cross country skier on snow. The techniques are the same and transferable so you get a head start when you get on snow.
This course is designed for beginners who want to expand their skills to cover skating and become an all-round cross country skier. It's ideal for anyone on our earlier beginner course, or if you already have some roller or cross country skiing experience.
You'll learn the different elements, Skate 1, 2 and 3 [think of them as gears], within the skating technique and when to use them on the flat and on hills.
It's a pathway to better skiing on snow on our Ramsau skills week in January 2027.
Course dates: 1pm on 31 May, 14 & 28 June, 10am start on 12 & 26 July
NB You'll need to confirm your attendance at subsequent sessions - by selecting the 'confirming course attendance' option at £0.00.
Coaching for improvers and intermediates - skate technique
Develop your skills and learn to roller ski more efficiently with tuition from our expert coaches. The aim will be to help you ski better, more efficiently and with less (wasted) effort.
- Improvers coaching is subject to coach availability and is for those who have attended a number of beginner sessions & can ski the circuit safely.
- Intermediates coaching is for competent roller skiers who want to refresh/refine/improve their skills.
- You choose which group you wish to join during the booking process.
NB Our aim is to run both groups subject to coach availability and number of participants. If we are not able to place you in a suitable group, you will be credited if you use a 1 of your 'any 5 sessions', or have purchased a single session.
Children's coaching
Designed for children aged 7-12 these sessions aim to develop skiing skills through play and fun. The focus will be on movement that develops coordination, technique and speed, both individually and as part of the group.
Southern Roll 12 km challenge - free technique
After a mass start ski see how quickly you can ski 12km in any technique, and get a timed result. Find out more about the Southern Roll here. Free of charge, enter online in advance.
