You are invited to the following roller skiing activities:

• 1000-1200 Learn to skate roller ski beginner course -session 2
• 1000-1000 Intermediate/improver coaching - skate
• 1000-1130 Children's roller skiing - session 2
• Individual training & practice session - all morning
• Pizza party - round off the season with free pizza! [You'll be asked about any dietary needs during the booking process.]

Skate roller ski beginners' course 

Your can learn to roller ski for fitness and fun, and in the UK it's the route to becoming a cross country skier on snow. The techniques are the same and transferable so you get a head start when you get on snow. Skating is also the technique used in biathlon.

This course is designed for beginners who want to expand their skills to cover skating and become an all-round cross country skier. It's ideal for anyone on our earlier beginner course, or if you already have some roller or cross country skiing experience.

You'll be introduced to the different elements, Skate 1, 2 and 3 [think of them as gears], within the skating technique and when to use them on the flat and on hills.

The 3 course dates are: 15 & 29/11, 13/12 - all start at 10:00.

Coaching for improvers and intermediates - skate technique

Develop your skills and learn to roller ski more efficiently with tuition from our expert coaches. The aim will be to help you ski better, more efficiently and with less (wasted) effort.

Subject to coach availability we may run separate improver and intermediate groups, or combine the levels in one group.

• Improvers coaching is for those who have attended a number of skate beginner sessions  & can ski the circuit safely.
• Intermediates coaching is for competent roller skiers who want to refresh/refine/improve their skills.
• You can indicate your skiing level during the booking process.

Children's coaching - session 2

The second of a block of 3 sessions, designed for children aged 7-12 they aim to develop skiing skills through play and fun. The focus will be on movement that develops coordination, technique and speed, both individually and as part of the group.  The next session is 13/12.

Pizza party

A pizza party to mark nearing the end of year's roller skiing before members head off for skiing on snow - free of charge to all session participants.

MEMBERSHIP STATUS

Prior to booking - you must be a LRNSC and Snowsport England [SE] member, although newcomers to the Club can attend up to 3 sessions before joining both organisations.

• From 1/11/26 you must have your own Snowsport England basic Green tier membership or above - you will need to give us your SE membership number during the booking process unless you're a newcomer or a member of a Snowsport Scotland affiliated organisation. You can renew by logging into your account, or see the rates and join.
• LRNSC Membership costs just £20.00 per year - please join here.

Or, if you're a member of the following please email us with proof of your membership:

• another Snowsport England club [of both your SE and club memberships];
• a Snowsport Scotland affiliated club [inc RAF Nordic & BNDS];

Or, if you are BBU:

• as there are currently no reciprocal arrangements with SE, please join SE or a Snowsport Scotland club and email us with proof of your membership.

COSTS

Learn to roller ski beginners' course including equipment hire

You may also be able to book a single session without equipment hire at the rates below - please contact us to check availability.

Five sessions - buy 5 coaching sessions and & save money - LRNSC members

• Buy 5 sessions [tuition only] in London, Cambridge area or Kent for £65.00 compared to £80.00 for 5 single sessions.
• you'll get a place at this session and 4 more prepaid sessions to use when you wish, providing you book in advance.
• you just book the future sessions by selecting the 'confirming attendance' option at your chosen event.

Single session prices - LRNSC members & non members [newcomers to the Club can book up to 3 sessions before you need to join for insurance purposes]

• £16.00 tuition only. 

If you don't have your own equipment you can hire this at £10.00 for a single session - please add this to your order.

Children's roller skiing - LRNSC member

Single session: £5.00 prices include equipment if required.

Individual training/practice session

• LRNSC & other nordic club members with SE green tier membership or above  : free of charge

Equipment hire

Roller skis, boots, poles, protective kit: £10.00 [classic, skate or combi].  Equipment hire is for those taking tuition or who can roller ski safely - if you don't know how to roller ski please book/attend a beginners' sessions.

NB 

• You must book online in advance by Friday 6pm 27/11 - this applies to everyone who wishes to participate in a coaching activity.
• When you arrive please check in with the LRNSC volunteer on duty.
• The club house will be open from approx 15 minutes prior to the core session and taught/coached session participants should be ready to ski at the stated start time.
  
• Please bring and wear gloves & your own cycle helmet & protective padding if you have them. 
• Some activities include equipment but kit can be hired if you need it - select when you book.
• Parking – use the road up to the club house after the barrier or Minet Lodge car park - the entrance is past Goals, on the right at the bend.
