Make Your Own Handrolls at Temaki

Temaki in Brixton is London's first dedicated handroll restaurant, showcasing the art of temaki as well as Japanese small plates like yellowtail sashimi, trout crispy rice, wagyu sliders with quail egg yolk, and crab sandos. The restaurant, which features an 18-seater wooden counter, offers traditional Kappo dining with the chefs talking you through the ingredients and preparing the handrolls right in front of you.
And now you can get a taste of what goes on behind that counter as we've teamed up with Temaki to host a handroll masterclass for our INSIDERS on Sat 3rd May, where you'll practice the art of crafting this type of sushi. During the session you'll learn the step-by-step process of making sushi rice, find out how to cut fish properly for sushi, and get insights into the different methods of preparing each type of fish. You'll make five different handrolls - akami (lean tuna), otoro (fatty tuna), salmon avocado, baked scallop and miso aubergine - and get to enjoy them along with a soft drink.
Tickets for the masterclass, including the handrolls and soft drink, cost £42. You can also add on a sake tasting, where Temaki's sake specialist will take you through the nuances of the drink, for an additional £20.
