Family CycleJoin Longford Triathlon Club for a free, fun, family cycle as part of Bike Week. Mostly away from the road, this is a gentle spin along the canal towards Abbeyshrule and back via Newcastle woods with free treats afterwards in Skelly's.All ages welcome.

Two routesShorter Route.Starting at the royal canal greenway near Peter Hanleys in Ballymahon, out towards Abbeyshule, turning at Guys Bridge 6.5km.

From there, we cycle on the paths along the River Inny, through Newcastle Woods. Finally, stopping in Skelly's for some free tea, coffee, and treats. A total of 12k and an expected time of about 1 hr.

Longer Route.The longer route is very similar, but we do an out and back from Guy's Bridge to Abbeyshrule. Length 21km, expected time 1:15 depending on who is in this group.

If either of these two routes are too long for you or your children, you are free to cycle with us for as long as you want, and return back to the car when you like and join us in Skelly's afterwards.
Note: there is a 1.5km cycle back to the car park at the canal after the coffees.

Under 16's must be accompanied by a guardian and helmets must be worn.
