Long Story Books Presents Mary Oliver: Saved by the Beauty of the World Documentary Screening

Join us Sunday, August 23 for a screening of Mary Oliver: Saved by the Beauty of the World at the historic Plaza Theatre! Part of PBS’ American Masters series, this film explores and celebrates the life and career of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Mary Oliver.

Mary Oliver is one of our all-time favorite poets, addressing the biggest, hardest topics--grief, loss, love--with approachability, generosity and clarity. Mary Oliver’s work is an evergreen example of how literature connects us to one another, and we’re so excited to watch this film together. 

The film will be introduced by Chelsea Rathburn, the Poet Laureate of Georgia, who will share a few poems and the impact Mary Oliver has had on her work. 

A selection of books will be available for purchase before and after the film.
