Description
Making More Waves presents Combining Animation and Live Performance with 1927
Join 1927’s Co-Artistic Director, Illustrator & Animator Paul Barritt for an interactive demonstration exploring the use of animation in a live context.
1927 is an award-winning Margate and London based performance company specialising in creating hybrid work that is a synchronised fusion of live performance, music and hand-drawn stop frame animation.
‘It is almost impossible to impart in word the magic of a 1927 show. A thrilling combination of animation, live performance, theatre and music…shows are dark and fruity, wildly inventive, fiendishly skilled and with a great sense of joy and purity’ The Telegraph
The session will explore different methods for integrating film and animation into live contexts, from simple techniques to more advanced approaches. We’ll cover practical aspects, tools required and delve into the playfulness of it all. There will also be an open forum for discussing and troubleshooting your ideas with the group!

“1927's trademark is the technically brilliant use of live action and music combined with superbly drawn and animated film backgrounds to create shows that combine vintage cultural nostalgia with a sharp, beady-eyed sense of postmodern alienation.” The Scotsman
