The Shape of Longing
You are invited into a story without words.
An intimate, immersive evening of drawing and live music in the atmospheric Old Net Loft, Brighton, created in collaboration by Lorraine Yu and Julián Gálvez. The evening unfolds through sound, movement, and stillness, with both artists appearing as live drawing subjects and offering a sustained performance to engage with rather than a fixed image.
A space suspended in time, shaped by music, presence, half forgotten memories, and pure feeling.
Whether you are an experienced artist, someone returning to creativity after a long time, or simply curious to try something new, you are warmly welcome. The evening can be experienced as a drawing event, a live music performance, or simply as a space to observe and be present.
You may choose to draw what is before you, or follow wherever your imagination leads. You are invited to respond through observation, memory, sensation, and feeling.
All interpretations are welcome.
The Shape of Longing is a space where feelings can travel beyond language. A chance to experience, observe, and create without the need to explain.
We are not talking ourselves out of feeling.
Basic drawing materials provided. Guests are warmly encouraged to bring sketchbooks and preferred materials. Wine and light refreshments available.
