The River Beneath the Mind: A Creative Practice

Hello Beautiful Women,

For our next gathering, we'll be diving into a beautiful practice that uses drumming, intuitive art, and stream-of-consciousness writing to help us reconnect with the deeper wisdom of past psychedelic journeys or recent dreams.

This is not an art class.

You do not need to be creative, artistic, or have any experience making art. 

This process is not about creating a beautiful product. It is about accessing a deeper way of knowing.

Many of us have had experiences in psychedelic journeys, dreams, meditation, nature, or moments of inspiration where something profound was felt or understood—but later seemed difficult to fully grasp, articulate, or integrate. This art process offers a gentle way to return to those places.

Using rhythmic drumming, simple art-making, free association, and stream-of-consciousness writing, we'll enter a "bridge state"—a space between ordinary consciousness and the deeper wisdom of the unconscious. Rather than analyzing our experiences, we'll allow them to unfold further and reveal new layers of meaning.

Together, we will:

• Revisit a meaningful moment, image, feeling, or insight from a psychedelic journey, dream, or other experience.
• Use drumming to help quiet the analytical mind and access a more intuitive state.
• Create quick, spontaneous sketches that bypass self-judgment and perfectionism.
• Explore what emerges through free association, uncensored writing, and creative expression.
• Allow unexpected insights, symbols, emotions, and ways of knowing to unfold.
• Share our experiences with one another.

I invite you to come with curiosity and trust the process. Trust your imagination. Trust what wants to emerge.

You might be surprised where the journey takes you and what wisdom reveals itself when the thinking mind relaxes and something deeper is allowed to emerge.

We will end with food and socializing! (Snacks provided.)

I am excited to explore this practice with all of you.

WHAT TO BRING

• Comfortable clothing for drumming journey
• Eye mask/shade for your eyes during the journey
• Yoga mat (pillow, blanket, or anything else to make you feel comfortable) 
• A journal and writing utensil
• A water bottle
• Any supplemental snacks/food that you might need to help keep yourself nourished
• Hat & sunscreen (and anything else you need to be comfortable in the outdoor courtyard during the social time)
• Optional: Colored Pencils or pastels of your own

Saturday, June 27 from 2:00pm-5:00pm in Topanga Canyon. Exact Address Provided Upon Registration.

This is a ceremonial container, so please arrive 15 minutes early to account for traffic, getting lost, etc and to ensure that we can begin on time. Thanks for understanding!
