UPRNs and Address Matching
UPRNs and Address Matching
Need help?
Join us on Tuesday 24th June for an exploration of UPRNs and Address Matching.
Address matching is a critical challenge in local government, where the multitude of systems and the lack of unique identifiers create barriers to effective data matching, with records often containing inconsistencies or variations in formatting.
We will have presentations from a number of boroughs on their approaches including Richmond and Wandsworth sharing their UPRN Address Matching Tool.
The UPRN address matcher, developed by Andre Modlitba from Richmond and Wandsworth Councils, takes a probabilistic approach to overcome these issues, ensuring greater accuracy in linking people and places. By leveraging the LLPG (Local Land and Property Gazetteer), OS's AddressBase and ONS's code, this tool has been instrumental in improving data matching and integration over the years. In this session, we will explore how the address matcher works, its applications and impact.
There will be an opportunity to discuss approaches across boroughs where will will dig into options for tooling and discuss effectiveness.
