How can local government exert greater influence over a technology market that is often characterised by closed systems, limited interoperability and supplier lock-in?
What we’ll cover
This roundtable brings together LOTI members to discuss the future of local government technology market shaping and the role councils and central government can jointly play with technology suppliers in creating a more open, competitive and innovative market. Participants will explore challenges ranging from APIs and data sharing to procurement, supplier behaviour and interoperability, and discuss GDS plans for interventions to achieve outcomes that individual authorities cannot.
The discussion will inform emerging work from GDS Local on the Local Government Architectural Model (LGAM) and market shaping, helping shape a future market that better enables collaboration, service integration and place-based public service reform.
Who should attend: Digital and data teams in London boroughs.
