DAY OF REST
Brinkburn, Northumberland, Sunday 15th March, 9.30am - 5pm.
A day retreat for knackered people.
When did you last rest? Not sit in front of the telly and scroll rest, but properly switch off for a day. Can't remember? Thought so. Day of Rest is an opportunity to press pause, move slowly, and have a proper good lie down. Everything is optional - this is your day, your time, your energy and your body. Dip in and out of the below as and when you feel.
- A slow yoga flow, suitable and adaptable for all bodies
- A restorative yoga practice - think bolsters, blankets and long restful holds
- Yoga nidra - yogic sleep for a big old dream and snooze
- Space to write and reflect. Guided conversation over a cuppa
- A stroll through the Priory grounds and beautiful Northumberland countryside
- An optional cold dip in the river
- A gorgeous hot, vegetarian lunch courtesy of our wonderful friends at Natural Balance Kitchen.
Who's it for?
Anyone who needs a little TLC, which let's face it, is all of us. The practices are gentle, and suitable for all bodies. The perfect gift for pregnant people, knackered new parents, the busiest people in your lives - or yourself.
Wear comfy clothes, bring a notepad and pen, and come exactly as you are.
Meet your guide
Lou Henry is a yoga teacher and community manager from Newcastle. She grew up just a stones throw from Brinkburn, and knows the restorative powers of the Northumberland countryside all too well. She's taught yoga for four years, sharing the majority of her practices to the busy folk of East London, alongside community organisations supporting carers, and young people in care, too. She's a huge advocate of restful practices, and always happy to tuck you in.
Following a sold out weekend retreat at Brinkburn in Winter 2025, she's excited to be back on home turf
