Tree Planting Day 2026 - Sunday 22nd November 2026

Our Annual TREE Planting day is BACK! and our little woodland is growing Big and Strong!

It may even be growing faster than the children who planted them!:))

This November, Bring back your Father Christmas at Enys Sapling tree (Oak, chestnut or Monterey Pine) to be planted out to its forever home here at Sailors Creek and together we can create a new woodland for nature!

Last year we planted close to 100 trees at the Creek and this year we have been busy clearing more of the land of buddleia and brambles to plant more trees.

This means the land is quite uneven and with lots of off-cuts of bramble. So please be aware thatit may not be a suitable place for delicate dog paws and for wheelchair/pram users or for the elderly.

Bring your saplings ( From 2022, 2023) and your woodland helpers dressed in suitable outdoor clothes and footwear to plant out your own baby tree and be part of caring for it grow into a new piece of woodland.

If your sapling has not survived, we have lots of saplings for you to plant, so simply book your ticket and tell us if you need us to provide you with a tree sapling.

Access to the field  - Click Here for Map

You will need to walk here from either Penryn or Flushing, along the coast path.

Please use the what3words bumpy.speeches.loitering

The tree planting takes place in a field with no direct car park access. You will need to walk a short 500 yard distance to get here.

As you approach you will see signage letting you know your on the right path and directing where to go:)

Access from Penryn - You can either get there by walking the coast path from Penryn - Flushing. Start the path at St Gluvias Church / Islington Wharf footpath. You will come across Sailors Creek halfway along the established coast-path approx a 30 min walk when leaving from St Gluvias Church in Penryn.

Access from Flushing - park at the top of Flushing (find a space along the road by bus stop or down by the boat yard- check parking restrictions) and walk up the public footpath ( up the hill) turn left at the style at the top and walk across the sheep field till you find the Find with the Sailors creek sign along the top hedge line. 15 mins.

Why do we do a tree planting?

Father Christmas at Enys has created a Christmas Grotto where children get to "give" back to nature, as well as "receive" a gift from Father Christmas.

Why?

Because it makes us Feel good! and whats more important than that?! To have a feeling that we are all doing something real and tangible to making our world a better place, for people, for wildlife and for the Planet.

With so much in the news about bad things happening in the world we wanted to create an event where children, families and adults can have fun create new family traditions all while doing something Good for our local environment.

It's here that we (Literally and figuratively) sow the seed of the idea to gift to others is just as important as receieving. Our gift is that we are creating a brand new woodland for nature. " Christmas Woods"

If you would like to get involved please attend one of our Father Christmas at Enys events.

Trees planted to date

  •  In 2023 we planted 100+ trees on Enys Estate Grounds . Now growing well and replenishing the tree stock after storm damage.
  • 2024 - we planted almost 100 trees at Sailors Creek - on a brand new piece of land - which we cleared of Buddelia and brambles and is now growing into a woodland "Christmas Woods".
  • 2025 - We planted close to 60 Trees - adding to "Christmas Woods" and is growing big and strong - a new wild woodland for nature.

By buying a ticket and opting to give a Suggested £2 donation to Father Christmas at Enys you are helping to fund this project and enable this woodland to be planted and cared for.

We do not receive any funding for this and this is done on completely off of our own backs, passion for nature and hard work, so any donations are greatly appreciated.

Sailors Creek is an amazing CIC, committed to clearing up this small part of our shared waterway and restoring it to a clean, pollution free vibrant and diverse waterway to be enjoyed by people, nature and planet.
