Hand Building Pottery Workshop with Twig Ceramics 

We are very excited to have the wonderful Rosie from Twig Ceramics hosting our nature inspired mug making workshop. In this workshop, you will learn how to hand-build your own mug by using the slab method. Add a handle and then decorate it with nature 'stamps' made from leaves, twigs and other natural materials foraged from the farm.

The session will start with a short walk on the land to forage for a selection of plants to use as textures to press into the clay. Rosie will then lead the session and show you step by step how to hand-make your mug and how to use pants and stamps to create textured surfaces.

Once you are finished, Rosie will take each mug to be glazed and fired, and it will be returned to Lovebrook 6 weeks later, fully transformed into your own piece of art!

*This session is suitable for ages 14+ and all under 16’s need to be accompanied by an adult.

Rosie Tweedale is the potter behind Twig Ceramics, bringing pottery and nature together.

She strives to create handmade tableware which feels good in the hand, to make the small moments more meaningful.

Rosie walks and forages around her studio in Sussex to both inspire her designs as well as use them in her work to create natural stamps.
