"I AM NOT A WITCH!" - A Free Online Samhain Ceremony to Heal the Ancestral Wounds of Betrayal

The Ancestors persecuted as witches would never have called themselves a Witch. To be known as a Witch was not something to celebrate. To be called a Witch was the ultimate betrayal that could lead to a brutal and humiliating death. 

In Africa, India and Latin America this is still the case. Between 1960 and 2000, about 40,000 people alleged of practicing witchcraft were murdered in Tanzania alone. Witch camps are currently home to thousands of exiled women across Africa.

Whether we identify as Witches or not, here in the West we at least enjoy the freedom and safety now to have the choice. As we work to empower ourselves and remember the old ways that live in our bones, proudly reclaiming the name of Witch is a good thing! But it's important we do it with an understanding for the reality of what went before. 

The wound of betrayal was not banished to the past. It continues to run deep in us today. Competition and comparison, gossiping and back-stabbing, criticism and judgement are all symptoms of the betrayer and the betrayed. Haunting the female psyche like a hungry ghost, the fear of betrayal keeps our sensitive nervous systems on high alert. Designed for connection, we are conditioned for separation. 

This Samhain Full Moon, I invite you to join me in ceremony to heal the collective wound of betrayal together. To shine a light on the shadows so we may clear out the emotional debris that keeps us disconnected.

During the evening I will guide you on a journey into the heart of the Burning Times to heal the wounds of betrayal held in your own ancestral lineage. Some of it will be hard-hitting, some of it may be painful, all of it is beautiful and designed to be healing. Strong emotions may well arise, and are welcome, but please make sure you are resourced to hold yourself through it. For through it is where we must go if we really want to access all the good stuff of love, joy and trust. 

And, as we all know, when women gather, magic happens!
