One night at the disco …we are thrilled, excited & ecstatic to announce to you that SuperMax returns October 1st with our legendary History Of D.I.S.C.O. extravaganza! As anyone who's been in attendance before knows, this one ain't for the faint hearted, even by Supermax standards!

Billyboy (“Glasgow’s King Of Disco”- Optimo) will present a rundown of the disco hits - past, present & future - from the uber-obscure 2 the all too familiar yet somehow totally unexpected with an ample helping of mirrored curveballs & exclusive edits thrown in 4 good measure!

Past highlights include the Ottowan "D.I.S.C.O.” singalong, B-boy playing just about every version of "I'm a Man" ever made and the entire club doing "The Hustle" to Van McCoy!

We’ll be installing Billy’s own personal customised DJ set up including Technics GR turntables & one of a kind Isonoe rotary DJ mixer as well as mirrorballs, disco lighting, projections & decorations to transform The Berkeley Suite into a veritable disco pleasure palace and ensure an experience like no other!

Hailed as "Glasgow's King of Disco" by internationally renowned dj duo Optimo thanx to his genre bending, no boundaries approach to djing during the 90's & 00's - a scene that has gone global in recent years with the success & interest in artists such DJ Harvey, Lindstrom, Prins Thomas and events such as 'Horse Meat Disco' ….and having performed alongside all but few of the djing greats that are still with us - legends that include Francois Kervorkian, Daniele Baldelli, Nicky Siano & Danny Krivit - Billy's focus in recent years has been in developing 'Supermax' with partner Lisa ....the name inspired by the music of Kurt Hauenstein's legendary band 'Supermax' who's music billy has pioneered for so many years ago!

Supermax is built around the firm conviction that truly the best clubs & parties are based around resident dj’s eg. David Mancuso's Loft, Larry Levan's Paradise Garage, Ron Hardy's Music Box, Frankie Knuckles Warehouse, Baldelli & Mozart's Cosmic Club, Junior Vasquez's Sound Factory, Paul Trouble Anderson's Loft.

High quality audio reproduction is fundamental to any great party and this is absolutely the case with Supermax. The Supermax sound system, acoustic treatment & sound management is courtesy of sound system designer and long-term collaborator Rory Watson of We Enjoy Sound and includes Billy’s personally specified & installed DJ set up - Technics GR turntables, Nagaoka Boron stylus & extra special ‘one of a kind’ custom built 19 inch rack mount DJ mixer from Justin Greenslade @ Isonoe!

Billy is a pioneer in the use of rotary DJ mixers due to their superior sound reproduction having been the 1st dj in the country to utilise specially imported ‘original’ Bozak mixers at his Outer Drive & Supermax parties (including a rare early D model Bozak that was originally installed at Legendary 70’s Fire Island discotheque ‘The Ice Palace’) before upgrading to the  ‘Isonoe’ custom built mixer in 2016. Venues & events such as Spiritland, Public Records, Brilliant Corners, Beauty & the Beat etc have all followed suit and only a handful of one off Isonoe mixers exist having only ever been designed & built for an illustrious clientele - Dixon, Floating points, Despacio, Spiritland, Brilliant Corners, Public Records NYC & Theo Parrish. 

At 15 years & counting Supermax is possibly the longest running genuine 'resident only' underground dance party anywhere in the world today and a throwback to an era where dj's would take control of the music selection, environment & experience across the entirety of the night, all the while developing a sense of community, mutual experience, continuity & rapport with the dancer.
