The Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Recognition Awards 2026 will bring together volunteers, coaches, referees, clubs, and partners from across the county to honour those who have made an outstanding contribution to the game. From inspiring positive change in their communities to showing exceptional dedication on and off the pitch, this event recognises the individuals and organisations who help football thrive.

Hosted at the iconic Athena in Leicester, the evening will feature special guest appearances from football figures, award presentations across a range of categories, and the opportunity to connect with others from across the local football community.

We're delighted to welcome a number of special guests to this year's event, including former Leicester City striker David Nugent, a key figure in the club's promotion-winning side and Premier League era, and Conrad Logan, the cult hero goalkeeper remembered for his unforgettable performances during Leicester City's Great Escape season.

Joining them will be Mitch Austin, manager of Harborough Town, who recently guided the club to promotion to the National League North; Ruebyn Ricardo, one of the EFL's rising match officials; Akil Howson, who recently served as an assistant referee in the FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Manchester City; and Joel Moore, Chair of the FA National Youth Council and Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Youth Director.

More special guests will be announced in the lead-up to the event.
