Horsemanship Masterclass with Lee Rutter and Oliver Phillips

This exciting equestrian event will bring together two professional trainers – Lee Rutter of LR Western Horsemanship and Oliver Phillips of OG Performance Horses – for a full day of live demonstrations, training insights and entertainment.

🐎 About the Trainers

Lee Rutter – LR Western Horsemanship
Lee is a professional horse trainer and competitor specialising in western horsemanship. With years of experience starting young horses and training western performance horses, Lee is known for his calm, ethical training approach and his ability to develop confident, willing partnerships between horse and rider. Lee has represented GB at numerous international events such as the World Equestrian Games (15th place as an individual ), FEI European Reining Championships (9th place as an individual) and FEI Bronze medalist. Multiple UK National champion.

Oliver Phillips – OG Performance Horses
Oliver is an accomplished performance horse trainer and trick rider. His dynamic shows and horsemanship methods have earned him a strong reputation within the equestrian community. Oliver and his team regularly perform at major events across the UK and Europe, combining education with entertainment, successfully competing for GB on equestrian Dzhigitovka .Through Oliver’s unique training program he has gained the respect of his peers by training the problematic horses who most would give up on , into horses that go on to flourish not just in his performance shows but for the students he works with.

🎤 Event Schedule

10:30am – Introduction Performance
Lee & Ollie open the day with a live performance demonstrating their different training styles.

Foundation Training Session
Each trainer will work with an inexperienced horse, showcasing how they create solid foundations in their training programmes.

Open Barn Experience
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the horses behind LR Western Horsemanship and OG Performance Horses, learn about their backgrounds and training journeys, and interact with the teams.

Trick Riding Show
Oliver and his team perform an exciting trick riding display.

Advanced Training Session
Lee and Ollie work with more experienced horses, discussing how to progress from foundation training to more advanced work.

“As part of this session you will also see how our worlds can blend and the true versatility of a well-trained horse,” explains Lee.

Finale Performance
Lee and Ollie perform together to close the day.

Oakridge Arena is a modern equine facility and well known for its restaurant and homely feel.

Trade stands will be in attendance .
