If you're living with breast cancer, chances are menopause hit you fast, and hit you hard. You're not imagining it, and you're not alone.

More than 80% of women with a breast cancer diagnosis experience treatment-induced menopause — earlier, more sudden, and more intense than anything you were prepared for. Too often, women aren't given real guidance on how to feel better. There are many safe, effective treatment options, and YOU deserve to know about them.

Join Let's Talk Menopause, NYU Langone Health, and Breastcancer.org on Thursday, October 1st — the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and World Menopause Month — for an open, honest event designed specifically for you. Through panels and Q&A, leading experts will address the short-term symptoms and long-term health implications of menopause during and after breast cancer treatment.

Hosted by award-winning journalist, author, menopause advocate, and Let’s Talk Menopause Board Member & Ambassador, Tamsen Fadal, this is an event you don't want to miss.

Come as you are. Leave informed, connected, and ready to advocate for your own care.

Time:  8:15 AM - 11:00 AM
(Continental breakfast and registration at 8:15 AM, program starts at 9:00 AM)

Panel 1
What No One Told You About Menopause & Breast Cancer

Women with breast cancer are often caught off guard by the sudden onset of menopause, and cancer treatments can often impact the intensity of symptoms. We'll dive into the physical and emotional symptoms you may be experiencing — hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood changes, vaginal dryness, and more. Our panelists will walk you through the many non-hormonal treatment options so you can start feeling like yourself again.

Panel 2
Staying Well: Long-Term Health After Breast Cancer
Menopause can have a lasting impact on your heart, bone, and brain health. Get practical, evidence-based guidance on weight-bearing exercise, nutrition, screenings, and metabolic health, plus answers to one of the most common, and most complicated, questions patients ask: is Hormone Replacement Therapy — now called Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT) — ever an option after breast cancer? And where do treatments like local vaginal estrogen fit in?

  • This is an IN-PERSON event.
  • For those living with breast cancer, caregivers, partners, and practitioners — but everyone's welcome.
