Nurse Unseen: Houston Premiere

Michele Josue’s NURSE UNSEEN explores the little-known history and humanity of the unsung Filipino nurses who risked their lives on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, while facing a resurgence of anti-Asian hate in the streets. This personal documentary unearths the colonial ties between the Philippines and the United States that have led to Filipino and Filipino-American nurses becoming the backbone of the U.S. healthcare industry.

Presented by HTX Made and Lualo Studio, this event will open with a screening of the feature-length documentary, NURSE UNSEEN, followed by a Q&A with director Michele Josue and a community story circle organized by Lualo Studio. Our afternoon concludes with a community lunch featuring delicious Filipino food!

Join us on Valentine’s Day for an afternoon of shared connection, community building, and appreciation for our Filipino Frontline Medical Workers. Families are welcome! We highly encourage you to bring your loved ones of all ages to see the stories of our unsung heroes.

Your ticket purchase includes the film screening, story circle, and community lunch.

Doors open at 11:30am. Film begins promptly at 12pm. Free parking is available on site.
