A Wholesome Experience Awaits
This Easter, Lunan Bay Farm is excited to open its doors for our annual Goats in Coats festival, an event that captured hearts last year with its irresistible blend of charm, fun, and education. Meet our baby Cashmere goats dressed in colourful, hand-knitted jumpers, lovingly made by our community knitters! The sight of our adorable kids in their snug coats, along with the opportunity to cuddle them, is a heartwarming experience that families and visitors of all ages adore.

By attending this special event, you’re not only enjoying a day filled with smiles and cuddles but also supporting our Scottish Regenerative Cashmere Project. We’re proud to be reviving Scottish Cashmere production sustainably, producing eco-conscious textiles that respect the environment. The festival gives you a glimpse into the workings of this unique project, making it both a fun and informative day out!

What to Expect at Goats in Coats 2026
We have lots to experience plus some surprises on the day!
Lots of Baby Cashmere Goats: We are expecting between 70 newborn kids throughout March 2026, who will frolicking in our nurseries for you to see.
Indoor Baby Goat Nurseries: Gain exclusive access to our indoor nurseries, where you can feed and pet our adorable baby goats and their mums. Watch the little ones at play in their designated areas!
Goat Cuddle Pens: Enjoy one-on-one goat kid cuddles at our cuddle area with guidance from our friendly goat herders.

Meet the Dairy Goat Kids: Say hello to pedigree breeders Silver Cloud's sweet Anglo-Nubians goats. Known for their chatty personalities, speckled coats and floppy ears, they produce the best milk for soaps, which you can buy too.
Meet the bellowing Boers: Visit the gentle Boers, known for their friendly manner and distinctive dangly ears. You can hear twin sisters Trixie and Choccie before you see them excited about being hand fed by visitors. RubyRed Boers pedigree boers will be back too.

Catch Up with Last Year's Kids: Meet last year's famous kids, now a year older and full of personality, especially twins Honey & Hilda, and Hamish & Heidi.
"Who’s the Daddy?" Game: Test your guessing skills when you meet and feed our impressive breeding bucks – Che Goatvara, Dennis, Herbie and Frank!

Hop up The Goat Express: Our 10-seater passenger trailer pulled by our farm vehicle will take you around our farm safely and scenically.
Sit on the Tractors: Pretend to be a farmer by sitting in our vintage and modern tractors.

Goat Feed Shop: Purchase goat feed and receive advice on safely feeding our goats for an interactive and enjoyable experience.
Souvenir Shop: Find exclusive Goats in Coats festival merchandise and keepsakes at our onsite shop.

Goats in Coats Bakery: Treat yourself to delicious baked goods, all goat themed.
Specialty Coffee Truck: Enjoy a coffee-to-go with high-quality brews and other drinks from our specialty coffee truck, Roamers based in Montrose, serving locally roasted coffee from Maison Dieu in Brechin. A taste of Angus produce.
NEW FOR 2025, Wee Cook: food truck from Angus serving their award winning artisan pies, showcasing the best produce from Angus including their epic Fishwives Pie with Arbroath Smokies, along with vegan and veggie pies too. Plus breakfast rolls for early morning tours.

Redcastle Goat Rum: Enjoy samples of a very special goat-themed Rum by Redcastle Spirits, who will be showcasing their latest Angus produced, award winning spirits.
Easy Free Parking & Secure Bike Area: Friendly car park stewards will greet you at our free car parking area on the farm and bike park, conveniently located just off the A92.

Warm Welcome and Map: Our meet-and-greet team will introduce you to your tour, providing a beautiful, hand-drawn map by artist Fleur Baxter to guide you through all the attractions.
Handwashing and Foot Dipping Stations: Conveniently located handwashing and foot-dipping facilities to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

Important Information for Festival Visitors

Important Notice for Pregnant Women
Due to Scottish Government guidelines regarding the zoonotic risks associated with livestock, if you are pregnant or may be pregnant, unfortunately, we cannot permit you access to the farm for health and safety reasons.
Tickets
- Standard Tickets: £17.50 per person for adults and children over 2 years old.
- Infants: Children under 2 years old enter free. No ticket required.
- Essential: All visitors, apart from infants under 2 years old will required tickets.
- Tour Duration: Each ticket grants access to a one-hour self-guided tour during your allocated time slot.
- Goat Cuddles: Each ticket includes access to one goat cuddle station per person.
- Tour Route: There is one way system through the tour site to follow and free map will be issued at ticket booth
- Arrival Time: Please arrive at your allocated time slot to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

Goat Feed
Goat feed is available for purchase at £1.50 per bag (cash preferred) upon arrival and at the halfway. You’ll find feeding stations throughout the tour, with clear instructions on safely feeding our goats.
Health & Safety - What to Expect and Wear
- Hand Washing: All visitors must wash hands before and after the tour using our handwashing facilities.
- Foot Disinfection: Please disinfect your footwear before and after the tour using our foot mats.
- Footwear: Suitable footwear is required as you will step in disinfectant foot mats.
- Warm Clothing: Our sheds are large, well-ventilated barns, and the tour extends outside, so dress warmly for comfort.

1. Cycling: Bike parking is available at the festival.
2. Train: Nearby stations are Arbroath and Montrose, both a short bus or taxi ride from the farm.
3. Bus: Take the Stagecoach Bus Service 47, connecting Arbroath and Montrose to Inverkeilor, then a 2 min walk to the farm.

Onsite Facilities
- No Eating or Drinking on Tour: To protect our animals, food and drink are not permitted during the tour.
- Speciality Coffee Cart: Available in the car park for drinks before or after your tour.
- No Smoking or Vaping : Smoking or vaping is not allowed anywhere on the farm.
- Accessibility: The kidding shed is wheelchair-accessible, with a disabled toilet onsite. Outdoor goat paddocks are accessible via a wide gravel path. Read our Access Advice page so you can decide if our event will suit your needs.
- Parking: Free onsite parking. Please consider car sharing. Stewards will assist with parking and exiting.
