Aaron Parnell Brown and his trio bring to the stage a spirited and soulful masterwork of loping, skipping, feisty and sexy tunes delivered in a captivating mélange of funk, blues, and jazz. With his new trio—electric guitarist James Austin Melton and upright bassist Brent Edmondson—Brown sets out to present a collection of covers and original songs that bring the listener in close through stories of self-awareness and inner dialogue. Since the 2012 release of his self-released debut, Sing, Brown has played small clubs in New York City as well as NPR’s Mountain Stage, and everywhere else in between.
