Summer Theatre Camp Junior Teaching Artist (ages 13 and up)

This summer, we’re seeking Junior Teaching Artists to join our team as volunteers alongside our Teaching Artist staff!

This is a unique opportunity for young theatre artists to gain hands-on experience in a professional theatre arts teaching environment. Junior Teaching Artists will assist our adult Teaching Artists with the many facets of camp, including acting, directing, choreography, music, tech, and design.

Jr. Teaching Artists will help in the lunchroom, on the recess yard, and in our rehearsal and crafting spaces. There will be opportunities to lead warm-ups, facilitate theatre games, oversee crafts, and showcase your creativity through research, devising, writing, and skill-sharing.

Do you know how to juggle or perform magic tricks? Great — those talents may come in handy during Circus Camp! Are you a Disney fan or a Greek mythology nerd? Awesome — you can share your knowledge during our Hercules camp! Are you a singer or accomplished dancer? Take a bow — it’s your time to shine!

During camp, we create our own sets, props, and sound design. Have an idea? Let’s make it happen!

Jr. Teaching Artists also assist with preparing materials. For example, sheet music or scripts may need organizing, or paint supplies may need to be set out for crafts. If a camper needs a quiet moment, Jr. Teaching Artists may sit with them in the theatre and offer support. Sometimes, we simply need an ice pack, a bandage, or a water break!

This is a volunteer position for students ages 13 and up. We are happy to sign off on volunteer hours required for school, work, or clubs, and we can provide recommendations upon request.

If you are 16 or older and have previously volunteered as a Jr. Teaching Artist, you are eligible to apply for a paid Assistant Teaching Artist position/internship.

When registering, please select your camp week(s). We will send a brief questionnaire to be completed before camp begins.
