Part II: STAR Troupe Solo Competitions
The Musical Theatre Competition Troupe is now STAR Troupe (Student Theatre Arts Repertory Troupe)! Lyceum Studio's STAR Troupe is a professional student training ground for young theatre artists in grades 6-12. STAR Troupe is a 3-part program that offers flexibility while focusing on theatrical training with a competition component.
Part I: Fall Workshop Series led by theatre professionals
Workshops are scheduled for Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.
October 12: Putting Pen to Paper with playwright, Stephanie Kyung Sun Walters (Terrence McNally Award Recipient)
October 26th: Musical Theatre Dance with professional dancer and teaching artist, Shiloh Goodin (Broadway's Paradise Square)
November 30th: Scene Study with Melanie Anderson (Troupe Director) and Tara Novie (Voiceover, acting, coaching)
Part II: Solo Competitions
STAR Troupe performers have the opportunity to perform solo material (songs and/or monologues) for competition. Participants will receive 3 private coaching sessions (45 minutes each) and one group lesson to prepare songs and monologues for Burlington County Teen Arts, Access Broadway and YES Fest.
- Burlington County Teen Arts: March 15th and 16th (We will only attend one day - TBD)
- Access Broadway: April 28th - 30th (We will be scheduled for one day)
- YES Fest: May 5th
Part III: Competition Troupe
The Troupe is an audition-only program directed by Melanie Anderson. All participants will be cast in one 20-minute musical for competition at Bucks County Student Theatre Festival (BCSTF). This year's competition show is The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Auditions: January 22 from 3:30 - 5:30 pm (details coming soon)
