Senses of Yemen
Exhibition-in-Residency

Senses of Yemen is a long-term project by Mabrouklyn dedicated to preserving and promoting Yemeni heritage through immersive experiences centred around the five senses: sight, sound, scent, taste and touch.

Borne of a personal connection to Yemen and a desire to document and celebrate its culture in the face of war and displacement, Senses of Yemen is developing a heritage programme of digital archiving, exhibitions and engaging activities that we plan to tour to Yemeni communities outside of London that are under-served by the heritage sector.

Over June 2025, Mabrouklyn is taking up a research and creative residency in Kunstraum – to give a taste of what we’ve been working on and all we’ve got to come.

Join us for a public exhibition on Yemeni architecture, pottery, jewellery and fashion – and the people that make, use and wear them – told through two extraordinary collections of artefacts and photography.  Each ticket will not only go to supporting the project, but also open up access to further events including rare film screenings, musical concerts, poetry recitals, coffee tasters, storytelling sessions and more.
