Amma's Birthday and Grand Reopening of Amrita Hall

After months of building and extension work and getting the Centre ready for our grand re-opening, we are excited to unveil our new dining hall, kitchen facilities, and meeting rooms upstairs - spaces that will support the Centre's community for years to come.

Join us as we celebrate this milestone with gratitude, and to honour Amma’s birthday – another year of Amma’s unconditional love, compassion in action and service to humanity.

The day will begin with the official inauguration of the dining hall, kitchen and meeting rooms, including a ribbon-cutting and lamp-lighting ceremony, with speeches from the Deputy Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Dr. Sunil Gupta, and Swami Shubamritananda Puri. This will be followed by lunch.

Following this, we will come together for our beloved Amma’s 73rd birthday, led by Swamiji with chanting of the 108 names, meditation, satsang, bhajans and puja.

A few important things to know

Capacity is limited for this special occasion. Overflow seating will be available in the dining hall, so arrive early to avoid disappointment if you want a seat in the main hall.

Lunch will be served following the opening ceremony - please indicate if you will want lunch regardless of which part of the programme you are attending.

No evening meal will be served. Amrita Cafe will be open from late afternoon and evening with a range of savoury and sweet snacks for purchase. If you can’t arrive in time for lunch you may wish to bring something more substantial.

On-site parking is limited and prioritised for dignitaries and guests - we encourage car-sharing, public transport, and allowing plenty of time to find parking in the nearby area (Bromley FC have a match with kick-off at 3pm)

As part of the ceremony will take place outdoors, please bring an umbrella in case of rain.

If your plans change, please cancel your ticket in advance so we can offer the space to someone else.

We can't wait to welcome you this special day!
