Diwali Celebration 2026

MA Centre UK welcomes you to our Diwali celebration!

Diwali celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and honours Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya after his victory over the demon King Ravana. The festival is marked by lighting lamps to symbolise light, and it is believed that Goddess Lakshmi visits every home during Diwali to bless us with prosperity and wealth.

Amma says, "Diwali is a celebration, a reminder- reminding us, by lighting the lamp of goodness, to remove the darkness of wickedness within. Like the people of Ayodhya welcomed Sri Rama, Diwali is a reminder to involve the divine within our heart".

You will get the opportunity to participate in some traditional activities with us, like;

· Rangoli creation, partake in producing a decorative design on the floor

· Garba, traditional folk dance originating from Gujarat

· Lakshmi Puja, where we will honour Goddess Lakshmi with traditional ablutions and Arati (waving of a ceremonial flame)

· Lighting of lamps, sparklers and fireworks to conclude the festivities
